J. Douglas Holladay (Founder, Co-Chair) currently devotes most of his time to number of non-profit efforts, including the Buxton Initiative, PathNorth, Inc., and Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure. Previously, he was a senior officer with the international investment banking firm Goldman, Sachs & Company and held senior positions in the White House and State Department. He holds degrees from the University of North Carolina, Princeton and Oxford University.
Kathryn Goetz is Chief of Staff of the Buxton Initiative. After graduating in 2004 from Hope College with a Bachelor of Arts in German and Philosophy, Kathryn received a Fulbright Scholarship to Germany. She has taught middle and high school German and English, both in the United States and in Germany. Kathryn works with both the Buxton Initiative and PathNorth, Inc.
Faten Al-Alawi is interning at the Buxton Initiative this summer and is spearheading a project entitled “Understanding Muslim Women in Washington.” Faten is a native of Bahrain and is currently a student at Yale University.
